Checking the Quality of a Web Developer

It's fairly easy to judge the quality of web design but not so easy to judge how well a website is put together in terms of search engine optimisation, performance, code quality, mobile friendliness and so on.

I recommend using the free independent Nibbler test tool to gauge the quality of a web professional's work by testing their own website and other websites in their portfolio. It's easy to run a report and it only takes a few minutes.

While no test tool is perfect, the results will give you an idea of the level of competence and value for money on offer.
