The iconifier.net website uses the Joomla 6.x content management system a customised JoomShaper Helix Ultimate template.
Web Development:
iconifier.net is a Webilicious side project that creates favicons and Apple Launcher icons from a supplied image. The tool was created because other similar tools didn't quite do what I wanted at the time:
- creation of the files with the correct file names
- preserve transparency so transparent GIF or PNG files result in transparent favicon and Apple Launcher icons
- multiple and higher resolutions embedded in a single favicon file
- easy one screen operation and download
Convert Forms is installed to enable custom PHP code that generates the icons and zips them into a download file. The PHP-ICO tool from Chris Jean does the hard work of creating the multi-image favicon file.
As at August 2016, the tool has generated over 200,000 icon sets.
Website Performance:
The iconifier.net website is kept simple so that the website loads as fast as possible. According to GT Metrix (see below), the website loads in less than a second which is quick compared to most websites.

Basic on-site and off-site search engine optimisation has been completed on the iconifier.net website so it can be found easily when using search terms such as:
